SA –
– South Africa will play their 1st ODI series at home after their last ODI series against England being abondoned due to the Covid Pandemic.
– Temba Bavuma has been appointed as South Africa’s Full time captain.
– Andile Phehlukwayo has passed the fitness test but still is doubtful for the opening game. Wiaan Mulder can play if Phehlukwayo doesn’t.
– Quinton de Kock will open the Innings with any 1 of Janneman Malan/Aiden Markram. Markram has been given a ODI call after the WC2019. De Kock will keep the Wickets.
– Captain Bavuma will most likely bat at 1 down. He has played just 6 ODI games but averages above 50.
– Rassie van Der Dussen and David Miller will bat in middle. Dussen is very consistent while Miller as always known for his big hitting ability but is very inconsistent.
– Henrich Klaassen will bat next followed by Andile Phehlukwayo or Wiaan Mulder.
– Keshav Maharaj/Tabraiz Shamsi will be assigned the spin department. Aiden Markram can also bowl some spin.
– Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi will be the pace attack of South Africa.
PAK –
– Pakistan team has a very poor record against South Africa. In the last 9 ODI games they have won just 1 game.
– Pakistan looks strong this time just the weaker link is the middle order. Danish Aziz can fill this spot who can be crusial with both bat and bowl.
– Imam ul haq and Fakhar Zaman will open the Innings. Fakhar has been in terrific form in domestic as well as in recently concluded PSL. Imam is a bit doubtful due to his low strike rate.
– Captain Babar Azam will bat at 1 down. Babar is world’s No 2 ODI batsman and is very close to overtake Virat.
– Mohammad Rizwan will bat at 2 down. Rizwan has been in form of his life recently being the highest scorer in t20 series against South Africa and also in the PSL.
– Sarfaraz Ahmed can bat next. Ahmed has played some really good innings this psl which can affect in his entry into the XI.
– Danish Aziz will bat in middle followed by Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf.
– Danish Aziz and Shadab will be the spin option for Pakistan.
– Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain/Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf will be the pace attack of Pakistan.
