IND –
– Team India have sent a B team for their Lanka tour as all their star players are on English tour, however have a very strong squad which consists of many IPL stars.
– Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team and Bhubaneswar Kumar will be the vice captain.
– Dhawan will open along with Prithvi Shaw in the 1st ODI. Shaw will play his 4th ODI and will be ready to make his impact after a successful IPL and domestic season.
– Surya Kumar Yadav will bat at 1 down. Surya will finally make is much waited debut in ODIs after taking the domestic circuit by a storm.
– Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey will bat in middle. Sanju is likely to play ahead of Ishan Kishan and will keep the Wickets. Pandey is a default pick due to his experience.
– Pandya brothers will be the next in lineups and will be important with both bat and bowl. Hardik will also bowl.
– Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal will be the spin options in the lineup.
– Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Hardik Pandya will lead the pace attack.
SL –
– Captain Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the ODI series along with pacer Binura Fernando due to injuries during the training session.
– Sri Lanka looks a very weak team as many star players like Kusal Mendis, Gunathilaka, Dickwella are not part of the squad due to suspension from the board.
– Dasun Shanaka will be leading the team and will have a great chance to showcase his talent in absence of big guns.
– Sri Lanka has many new faces in the squad and will be a tricky task for of selecting the final XI.
– Avishka Fernando and Pathum Nissanka will likely be the openers. Both are very talented cricketers. Nissanka has a very good record in domestic circuit but hasn’t performed in International much.
– Minod Bhanuka will likely bat at 1 down. He is a good domestic player and has been consistently scoring in 30s in last 5-7 games.
– Dhananjaya de Silva and Bhanuka Rajapaksha will bat in middle with Captain Shanaka to follow. De Dilva will have a big task along with Shanaka with both bat and bowl.
– Wanindu Hasaranga will bat next. Hasaranga has emerged as an proper Allrounder in the last year and half and will play an important role in this series.
– Lakshan Sandakan , Wanindu Hasaranga and Dhananjaya de Silva will be the spin options of team.
