Team News –
HUR –
– The Hurricanes after losing the final of BBL 2018 had a desastrous last season where they managed to win just 6 of their 14 games and were at the last 2nd position in the points table.

– Matthew Wade will be unavailable for the 1st few games due to National duties.

– D’arcy Short and Caleb Jewell/M Wright will open for the hurricanes. Short has the highest impact rate when it comes to the BBL and contributes through both bat and bowl. Wright scored 2 50s in 4 games last BBL.

– Experienced Colin Ingram will bat at 1 down. Ingram provides a lot of Balance to the team. He bowled in few games last season.

– Pater Handscome will bat at 2 down. Handscome will be a important part of the brittle Hobart middle order. He will alse keep the Wickets.

– Will Jacks the young English Allrounder will bat at 3 down. He can also be promoted up the order as he opened in T20 blast2020.

– James Faulkner will bat next and will contribute through both bat and bowl.

– Johan Botha and Will Jacks will likely handle the spin attack.

– Riley Meredith, Nathan Ellis, Scott Boland and James Faulkner will be the 4 men pace attack of hurricanes.

SIX –
– Sixers are the defending champions and have done some really recruitments in form of Daniel Christian, Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaith this season.

– Josh Philippe and James Vince will open for Sixers as they did in last season. Phillipe was the third-leading run-getter in BBL last season with 487 runs. Vince is a quality Batsman who also Averages 40+ against Hurricanes.

– Experienced Daniel Hughes and Jordan Silk will bat at 1 and 2 down respectively. Both have played over 50 games for the franchise and have 1100+ runs for them.

– Justin Avendano/Jack Edwards will hold the middle order. Sixers middle order looks quite weak. They can promote Edwards to open and make a strong middle order.

– Daniel Christian and Carlos Brathwaith will handle the allround duties. Christian played all his games for the hurricanes who are against him this game. Brathwaith took 10 Wickets in the CPL2020 but was out of form with the bat.

– Steve O Keefe and any 1 of Ben Manenti/Lloyd Pope will lead the spin department. Steve is quite experienced have played test Cricket for the Aussies. Pope was excellent last season wjere he took 10 Wickets in just 7 games.

– Ben Dwarshius, Gurinder Sandhu , Dan Christian and Carlos Brathwaith will be the pace attack for Sixers with Dwarshius bowling in the death.
