Team Blueprint –
ENG –
– England won the 1st of 3 T20s very comfortable by 8 Wickets with Buttler being the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 68 runs. Team will look to go unchanged and will be happy to seal the series in this game itself.
– Jason Roy and Jos Buttler will open the innings. Both were in decent form this Blast. Buttler after scoring a ton in IPL scored brilliant 68 and remained not out last game while Roy smashed 36 of 22 balls.
– World’s No 1 t20 batsman Dawid Malan will bat at 1 down. He is the fastest man to 1000 t20 runs. He struggled to score and was out on 7 off 14 deliveries last game.
– Jonny Bairstow will bat at 2 down followed by skipper Morgan at 5. Bairstow is in red hot form being the highest scorer in blast 2021.
– Liam Livingston and Sam Curran will play the Allrounders role in absence of Stokes.
– Adil Rashid and Liam Livingston will lead the spin attack. Rashid continued his good form in t20s picking 2 Wickets in last game.
– Chris Jordan, Mark Wood, Sam Curran and any 1 of Woakes or Willey will lead the pace attack. Jordan and Wood took 1 Wicket each while Curran took 2 last game.
SL –
– Sri Lanka has been going through their worst run currently. They have won just 5 of their last 20 t20s and also are on verge of loosing this series as well.
– Team can bring in Pathum Nissanka who is the future of Sri Lanka and they will look to invest in him.
– Danushka Gunathilaka and Avishka Fernando will be the openers for Lanka. Gunathilaka has been in brilliant form and will look to continue his form. Avishka was out on duck after his return to the shorter format last game.
– Captain Perera will bat 1 down and keep the Wickets. Kusal Perera is an experienced guy and his runs will decide the fortune of Lankan team this series. He was out on 30 last game.
– Kusal Mendis will bat at 2 down with Shanaka to follow. Shanaka scored a 50 last game but plays very slow with a SR of 113.
– Dhananjaya De Silva/P Nissanka will bat next l. De Silva plays very slow and also is out of form with the bal.
– Wanindu Hasaranga and Akila Dhananjaya/L Sandakan will be the spin options. Hasaranga has emerged as a very good Allrounder in the last year and half. Akila was quite expensive and can make way for sandakan.
– Isuru Udana, Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Pradeep will lead the pace attack. Pradeep was very expensive last game and can be dropped.
