Team News –
DC –
– The Capitals won their last game against Punjab Kings which was in the 1st half of IPL and are at the 2nd position in the points table with 6 wins in 8 games. They are still going very strong in the tournament and are favorates to win this game.
– The four probable foreign players will be Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada.
– Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan will be opening for Delhi. Both of them are having a blast this season and are playing very attacking Cricket. Dhawan is currently the 2nd Highest scorer and Shaw is not so far in the race.
– Shreyas Iyer will bat at 1 down. Iyer was not part of the setup in the 1st phase due to a surgery. Iyer is an experienced cricketer and will look to get in form before the World Cup.
– Rishab Pant will bat at 2 down followed by Marcus Stoinis at 5. Pant needs no introduction and is going through excellent form.
– Shimron Hetmyer and Axar Patel will bat after Stoinis. Hetmyer can smash any bowler on his day.
– Axar Patel and R Ashwin will be the spin options for the Capitals. Both of them have very good experience and recently both hot selected in the t20 world cup squad.
– Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan will lead the pace attack with Stoinis to assist them.
SRH –
– SRH lost another game against Rajasthan Royals and now need to win atleast 6 of their 7 games to be in line of the playoffs which is very much impossible.
– Jonny Bairstow has withdrawn from the IPL and Jason Roy has been named as his replacement for the 2nd Phase of the IPL.
– Team’s likely 4 foreign players will be David Warner, Rashid Khan, Kane Williamson and M Nabi/Jason Holder.
– David Warner and W Saha will open the innings. Warner is one of the top scorers in IPL history and is back after getting dropped in last few games in 1st half. Saha will keep the Wickets.
– Kane Williamson will bat at 1 down. Manish Pandey will bat at 2 down. Both Kane and Pandey will have a important role to play in the brittle SRH middle order.
– Vijay Shankar will handle the middle order. They have depth in Batting but are very unreliable. Abdul Samad will follow Shankar and can also be promoted.
– Rashid Khan and M Nabi will lead the spin section. Nabi has high chances of playing due to his Allrounder abilities.
– Khaleel Ahmed/Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the pace attack. Vijay Shankar will assist them with his medium pace.
