– Australia Womens will play it’s first t20 after winning the t20 world cup 2020 against India. When it comes to new Zealand the Aussies came out to be at the top after winning by 4 runs at the same event.
– Australia recieved a big blow right before the start of the series as their Star Allrounder Ellyse Perry has been ruled out due to fitness issues from the 1st t20i.
– Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney will open the innings. Both are one of the best t20 batters in world cricket currently with Healy at no 5 and Mooney sitting right at the top of the rankings.
– Meg Lanning will bat at 1 down. She is ranked 7th in the t20i rankings . She has an excellent record when it comes against New Zealand with 450+ runs in 24 innings.
– Ashleigh Gardner and R Haynes will hold the middle order. These two have to take the responsibility in absence of Perry in the 1st game.
– Sophie Molineux and Nicola Carey will do the all round duties for Australia.
– Jess Jonassen, Sophie Molineux and G Wareham will be the key to spin department. Molineux took a 5-fer in practice game.
– Megan Shutt, Nicola Carey and D Kimmince will be handed the responsibility of pace attack.
NZW –
– New Zealand womens had a poor world cup which was in February as they failed to qualify for the semis losing to the Aussie by 4 runs.
– Team has been delighted as their one of the best Batsman Amy Sattherwaite is back after been on maternity leave for almost 18 months.
– Captain Sophie Devine and Big Hitting Jess Watkin will open the Innings. Devine is the backbone of New Zealand Batting as well as bowling. She had a decent world cup scoring 132 runs according to her standars. Watkin is a hit or miss type player.
– Suzie Bates the world’s 2nd best Batsman according to the rankings will bat 1 down. She has scored the highest runs for new Zealand in t20s.
– Amy Sattherwaite will bat at 2 down followed by Maddy Green at 5. Amy is back after a big maternity break of 18 months but scored 48 in warmup game.
Maddy Green has been impressive with 92 runs in 4 games this t20 world cup.
-Katey Martin will do the Wicket keeping. Amelia Kerr will bat next. She is a very dependable Batsman.
– Amelia Kerr will be leading the spin attack.
