– Australia won the first game and are firm favourites to win this hame and series too. Bowling first the Aussies restricted New Zealand for just 180 which was a cake piece for the Aussie batters chasing the total in 33 overs
– Ellyse Perry has been ruled out of the ODI series.
– Alyssa Healy and Rachel Haynes will open the innings. Healy attacks from word go while Haynes is more a technical type player. Haynes scored 118 runs against Sri Lanka at the same Ground last year.
– Meg Lanning will bat at 1 down. She is ranked 5th in the ODi rankings . She has an excellent record when it comes against New Zealand with 450+ runs . He was not out on 62 last game.
– Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney will hold the middle order. Mooney opens in t20 but will play role of finisher in ODIs.
– Sophie Molineux, Jess Jonassen and Nicola Carey will do the all round duties for Australia.
– Jess Jonassen, Sophie Molineux and G Wareham will be the key to spin department. All three spinners took 2 Wickets each last game.
– Megan Shutt, Nicola Carey and Annabel Sutherland will be handed the responsibility of pace attack. Shutt took 4 Wickets in 1st game of t20 series.
NZW –
– New Zealand got another blow as their Best Batsman Suzie bates has been ruled out of this game. Lauren Down is also ruled out. Jess Watkin can open for Bates.
– Natalie Dodd and Jess Watkin will likely open the Innings. Dodd has a decent start to the series with 19 runs. Jess Watkin is a very hard hitting Batsman and can also bowl.
– Amy Sattherwaite will bat at 2 down. Amy is back after a big maternity break of 18 months . She had a decent t20 series with 69 runs in 3 games . Failed in 1st ODI.
– Captain Sophie Devine will bat 2 down. Devine is one of the best Allrounder around but is looking very ineffective against the aussies.
– Katey Martin will do the Wicket keeping. Amelia Kerr will bat next. She is a very dependable Batsman.
– Katie Perkins and Maddy Green will handle the lower middle order. Both of them added 62 Runs for the 7th wicket.
– Amelia Kerr will be leading the spin attack. She is a very good bowler who can also bat.
– Sophie Devine, Hayley Jensen, Lea Tahuhu and Rosemary Mair will be leading the pace attack. Rosemary mair took 2 Wickets last game.
