Team News –
AUS –
– The Aussies were favorates before the series and played accordingly in 1st test but were demolished by the Indian Bowling and some brilliant Batting by Captain Rahane.
– David Warner and Talented Will Pucovski will open for the Aussies. Warner in not someone to introduce however has a poor record when it comes to Ashwin who has picked warner 9 times of 17 innings. Pucovski will finally get his game after a tremendous First Class records.
– Marnus Labuschagne will bat at 1 down. Labuschagne’s rise has been a huge positive for Australia. He currently averages 58 in 16 Tests till date and scored 30+ in both the innings last test.
– Mr Consistent Steven Smith will bat 2 down. Smith’s record against India is nothing short of incredible, with 1,439 runs in 12 Tests but had a very ordinary tour so far with just 10 runs in 4 Innings.
– Travis Head and Tim Paine will bat in middle followed by Young Cameron Green who has a brilliant A game scoring a century but looked ordinary in both the games. Paine was excellent with 73 in 1st test.
– Nathan Lyon will be the lone spinner for Australia. He has an excellent record against India especially against Pujara whom he has picked 10 times in 24 innings.
– Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood will lead the pace attack. Hazelwood after taking a 5-for in 1st test looked very ordinary in last game , Starc was good with the new ball but struggled to pick Wickets.
IND –
– Team India have announced their XI for the Sydney test in which Navdeep Saini will make his much awaited debut while Rohit Sharma will also take the field for the first time in this tour.
– Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open for India. Gill proved why he is the better choice as an opener scoring 30+ in both the innings. Rohit is back and will open along with Gill.
– Mr Consistent Cheteshwar Pujara will bat at 1 down. Pujara was the highest scorer when India toured Australia in 2019 but had poor run this series in all the 4 innings.
– Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane will handle the middle order for India. Both Rahane and Vihari were in good form in the India A games with Rahane going on to score a big ton in 2nd test while Vihari still looking for his 1 good game.
– Rishab Pant will keep the Wickets and bat next followed by Ravindra Jadeja. Jaddu scored brilliant 57 runs and also took 3 Wickets with the bowl.
– Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will lead the spin attack of India. Both were brilliant together last game with Ashwin taking 5 and Jaddu taking 3 Wickets.
– Jasprit Bumrah, Navdeep Saini and Mohammad Siraj will lead the pace attack of India. Siraj had a brilliant debut in last test with 5 Wickets.

Pitch Report –
Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney
The surface at Sydney has been favourable for the batsmen in the last few matches. Traditionally as well, the SCG pitch has assisted spinners and slowed down as the game progresses. The average first innings score at this venue in the last five matches has been 458 which is why the captain winning the toss is likely to bat first.
