– Guyana Amazon Warriors finished second at the points table during the last year’s edition. They lost to St. Lucia Kings in the semi-final. Under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran, the franchise would be aiming to win its first CPL title.
– Guyana Amazon Warriors include foreign options like Imran Tahir, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Waqar Salamkheil and Naveen-ul-Haq.
– Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj will be the openers for Guyana. Both have been opening from last 2 seasons and have been successfull together. King has been among top 5 scorers from last 2 seasons.
– Shimron Hetmyer will bat at 1 down. Hetmyer no doubt is one of the players around who can hit the ball very clean. He however scored at a less SR against Australia.
– Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik the legends of Pakistan will bat in middle. Both are very experienced and can contribute through both bat and bowl.
– Nicolas Pooran will bat next and will also keep the Wickets. He will look to give his best considering the IPL and t20 world cup very close.
– Imran Tahir, Ashmead Nedd/Kevin Sinclair will be the spin options with Guyana. Hemraj can also bowl some overs.
– Naveen ul haq, Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith will lead the pace attack.
TKR –
– The Trinbago Knight Riders won the previous season of CPL and is one of the most successful team in the tournament.
– They have made 2 changes in their overseas section from last season by bringing in Pakistani Spinner Yasir Shah and Kiwi Batsman Tim Seifert. Sandeep Lammichhane and Sikandar Raza will not be the part of squad this season.
– Lendl Simmons and Sunil Narine/Tion Webster will open the innings for TKR. Simmons is going through an excellent form with being Highest run scorer last season and in The Australia series as well. Webster is good player if opens.
– Colin Munro will bat 1 down. Munro the Kiwi Opener has been playing a lot of cricket recently in England amd is in decent form.
– Darren Bravo will bat next followed by Tim Seifert. Seifert wilk keep the Wickets.
– Kieron Pollard will do the late hitting for team along with Udana who can also hit few.
– Kharry Pierre, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hossain will lead the spin section.
– Isuru Udana, Jayden Seales and Ravi Rampaul or Ali Khan will be the pace attack.
